Description

Underwritten in the office kept by Peter Chardon Brooks, Capt. Enoch Pierce of Newburyport...is insured...twelve hundred dollars on property on board the Schooner Peggy and Polly, from Newburyport to one or more ports in the West Indies, and at and from thence back to Newburyport or any other port in the United States, whereof is master for this voyage, Henry Richardson...The words "unless a war or hostilities should commence during the voyage" were erased before signing. Should the Schooner go to Suriname only, thirteen percent maximum are to be returned; and should she go only to Suriname and neutral and French ports - but not an English one - and return safely - ten percent premium are to be returned.
